Avonmouth Severnside Enterprise Area (ASEA) Ecology Mitigation and Flood Defence Project

Avonmouth Severnside Enterprise Area (ASEA) Ecology Mitigation and Flood Defence Project

ASEA Newsletter

South Gloucestershire Council, Bristol City Council and the Environment Agency are working together to improve flood defences and create new habitats for wildlife in the Avonmouth Severnside area.

We have now published details of our proposals to:

  • Improve the flood defences between Avonmouth and Aust
  • Create new areas of wetland habitat in the Hallen Marsh and Northwick areas.

We will be holding two public exhibitions to provide more details:

  • Tuesday 4th July, Avonmouth Community Centre, 257 Avonmouth Road, BS11 9EN, 4pm – 8pm
  • Tuesday 18th July, Severn Beach Primary School, Ableton Lane, BS35 4PP, 5:30pm – 8pm

Our latest newsletter (attached) provides an overview of the proposals and details of these events.  Some of the information we will display at the public exhibitions is now on our webpage, so for further information on the project please click here.

The webpage also contains details of how to comment.  Please note that the closing date for feedback is Tuesday 8th August.  Comments will be used to help refine the proposals prior to the submission of planning applications later this year.
