Operation Heron Survey Evaluation

In April this year the Force introduced Operation Heron as a tactic for responding to and dealing with Shoplifting (piloted in Bristol earlier in the year).

Op Heron was taken from other areas across the country as a method of ensuring we are there when you really need policing support, by encouraging stores to deter and disrupt criminality before offences take place and dealing with lower level issues, where appropriate, locally. Avon and Somerset Constabulary is reviewing this operation to ensure that it is delivering what it intended to. Your input into this is important to help us make the correct decisions about this approach going forward, including any potential changes to improve the service we provide.
