Take a look around Bankys’s Dismaland

Take a look around Bankys’s Dismaland

Here are a few photos from inside Bankys’s new and bemusing pop-up exhibition, Dismaland!
It was revealed last week that the world renowned graffiti artist Banksy has created a new exhibition in Weston-super-Mare at the Tropicana complex. Now, the seaside resort is at the centre of attention as thousands of people and the world’s media descend to get a glimpse of the satirical and thought provoking exhibition.
Banksy’s 2009 exhibition in Bristol, Banksy vs the Bristol Museum attracted more than 300,000 visitors over 12 weeks and was estimated to have generated £10m for the local economy. Tourism leaders and local authority chiefs are already estimating the deliberately miserable Dismaland will give a £7 million boost to the Weston-super-Mare area.
The ‘bemusement park’, which will takeover the old Weston Lido for 6 weeks, features work and sculptures from the elusive Bristol-Born Banksy, Damien Hirst, Jenny Holzer and Jimmy Cauty.
Tickets for the exhibition have been hard to get hold of with the website regularly crashing, but the system will be open on Tuesday 25th August from 12 noon at when you will be able to purchase tickets for that evening’s session (7-11pm) and the next 7 days.
