Since launching in February we have curated events that have, with the help of the region’s tech community, explored the opportunities and barriers to creating a truly Smart City. We have looked at the tech making things happen; from artificial intelligence, IoT, cloud, communication networks, robotics to cybersecurity. We have debated the issues and considered some of the social implications as well as the legal and regulatory frameworks. And we have looked at all these areas through the constituent parts of a Smart City – homes, transport, work and health.
On October 17 we will bring all this together and present a truly unique picture of what a Smart City really is and how the febrile tech cluster in the region can play its part in transforming cities and places into dynamic, intelligent and autonomous places to live.
