West of England LEP Chair – Opportunity

West of England LEP Chair – Opportunity

The West of England LEP has been successfully operating for 5 years under the guidance of its chair, Colin Skellett, and a high-performing board.

Colin has decided it’s the right time to step down, creating an opportunity for another business person to take up this vital role in the region. The business community, as represented by a nominations committee drawn from the CBI, IoD FSB and Business West (Bristol and Bath Chambers of Commerce), in conjunction with the 4 local authorities will now go through the process of identifying a chair to lead the LEP board and applications are now being sought from the West of England business community.

The LEP Board meets formally 6 times per year, however, the other demands of the role mean that the time commitment each month will vary depending on external and internal factors and a large degree of flexibility is necessary from the successful applicant. The position is not paid, but expenses will be reimbursed.

If you are a business person and wish to be considered for the chair role, please submit a CV and brief covering letter explaining your interest and what you would bring to the LEP role. All candidates will be considered by the committee and a short list of applicants invited to an interview by the committee in early 2016

The application window for this Chair opportunity will be held open until 5 pm, Friday 15 January 2016. To express your interest, please send by post or e mail your CV and covering letter to:
